Grandma's Cows

I thought I'd throw this post in there for Celeste... I got to see Bill's Grandma's baby cow on Sunday!  The grandparents breed and raise some specialty cattle, more along the lines of breeding for optimal genetics rather than tending a giant herd.  I've been hearing about Grandma's new baby Scottish Highlander, Coleen. We took the truck back up to the farm after hauling garden dirt around and as soon as we got there, I hopped out of Big Red and started snapping pictures of little Coleen.  Here she is!

Half of what tickles me so much about these cows is their sweet names.  So cute!  While Baby Doll and Coleen joined the other cows for lunch, we went inside for some excellent home-cooked Chicken Pot Pie.  I try to cook for Bill, but I think it's still such a treat so have some real home-cooked food.  Yum yum yum... and then nap time on the way home!
See you next time little cows!

  1. Friend!!! Thank you for posting this because sometimes I feel I'm the only one in the world who cares about naming cows. Tell Bill's g-ma that she's picked out perfect names for these beautiful bovines. Plus, Scottish Highlanders...AMAZING! When I visit next, lets go out so I can meet the meat! (haha, I'm sure they don't eat them)
