Tulips...Finally

The tulips finally opened and they're gorgeous!!  I'd forgotten what colors I planted and when they bloomed I remembered!  Of course they're orange!!  You can see they're mostly the orange ones with yellow edges, but mixed in there are also some deep orange solid petals and a couple butter-cup yellow ones in there too.  I'm so tickled!!!  I sort of want to cut them and bring some into the house for the kitchen table, but I don't want them to wilt before their time!

Also, we went to Home Depot Wednesday night in hopes of snagging all the supplies for the weekend's projects ahead of time and being ready to roll first thing in the morning.... instead of blowing the first half of the day fighting the mess of other carts clogging the aisles on weekends. 

We'll see how some of the projects go.

The rest of the plans are looking amazing and I'm so excited to get my hands dirty over the weekend.... Hoping there's sunshine...

Tulips - This Bud's for You Edition

The Tulips are Emerging!

    

I've been waiting *SO* patiently for my tulips to come out.  And for warm weather.  But I started seeing tulips starting to bloom around Nashville.  Outside work, around Cool Springs, landscaping in the medians, they were blooming everywhere EXCEPT at the house with the white picket fence!  FINALLY Nashville has had four consecutive days of sunshine and warm weather, not to mention that it was Thursday to Sunday.  GLORIOUS!!  I swear all of my crabbiness just washed away.  It was perfect... not to mention that while weeding before Friday cocktails I noticed that the tulip flowers have started to emerge.  YEAH!!!!  They're the prettiest minty green color and I can't wait for them to bloom.

Mid-March Tulip Progress

Tulips... maybe...

In a testiment to his love and devotion, Bill let me dig up the front flower bed at his beautiful new house last fall, so I could plant tulips that we could enjoy in the spring.  During our yard work over the weekend I discovered these little guys sneaking up to the sunlight!!
